Football Jamboree

Grid Kid Football officially kicked off today with a Jamboree.  This is Ronin's first year playing "real football" as his dad puts it.  He's graduated from flag football. :)

Finally, Ronin and Brayden are on the same team for once!  All these years of city baseball, basketball, and football they've always had to play against each other.
It's pretty cute watching these boys check themselves out in all of their protective gear. You can tell they are feeling strong and invincible with all that manly stuff on. :)

Rigdon.

Ronin had a great defensive play where he ran down his opponent and...

tackled him.

Such a studmuffin. :)

Sideline entertainment.

Practice games over.  The real ones start next week.

Looks like it's gonna be a fun season.

Hansen Family Portraits

Since all of my siblings were in town for my grandmother's funeral, we decided to get some family pictures.  It's been a few years since we've had any done and we never know when we'll all be together again.   Lisa, my sister-in-law, was gracious enough to take the pictures for us.  Thanks Lisa!

Sisters!

Just the girls, me with my mother and sisters.

My parents.

It was really windy that day.

My little sis, Jodi.

These two were very glad when this photo shoot was over.

I don't think Cory knew how to take all of this extra sisterly attention.

This is the first set of family photos we've done without my deceased brother, Troy.  He died over four years ago.  It was weird to not have him with us.  Maybe that's why we've put something like this off for so long - we're missing Troy and it was just hard to do a new family photo without him.

So, for reminiscence sake, I had to put a few old family portraits in as well so Troy can be included.   I miss him.

I like this one cuz I'm doing what I do best...pickin' my nose.  :)  Oh, look at little Dote Dote (Jodi) - such a cute little baby!

1995 - I was eighteen years old.  My brother-in law, Todd, and my little niece, Nicole, had joined our family.

Meanwhile, the kids were having fun too:

Another Funeral - this time with bagpipes

Jed and I both feel like this was the "summer of funerals."  Both of our grandmothers passed away within a month or two of each other.  And the day before my grandma's funeral, Jed attended the funeral of a police friend who recently passed away due to cancer.  He was 53 years old.

That's my hubby - the one with the bald, shaved head.

Quite an impressive precession.
