Family Portraits

It's been five years since we've done any family portraits, so I can't tell you how excited I was to finally have these in my hands!

A big thank you to Lisa Hansen Photography for putting up with our rowdy bunch.  I'm sure she had to do some serious photoshopping since there were a lot of face pulling from all the boys...including the biggest one! If it wasn't one boy, it was another.  Somehow out of all that craziness, we ended up with some great results.

Thank you so much, Lisa!!!!!

Hansen Family Portraits

Since all of my siblings were in town for my grandmother's funeral, we decided to get some family pictures.  It's been a few years since we've had any done and we never know when we'll all be together again.   Lisa, my sister-in-law, was gracious enough to take the pictures for us.  Thanks Lisa!

Sisters!

Just the girls, me with my mother and sisters.

It was really windy that day.

My little sis, Jodi.

These two were very glad when this photo shoot was over.

I don't think Cory knew how to take all of this extra sisterly attention.

This is the first set of family photos we've done without my deceased brother, Troy.  He died over four years ago.  It was weird to not have him with us.  Maybe that's why we've put something like this off for so long - we're missing Troy and it was just hard to do a new family photo without him.

So, for reminiscence sake, I had to put a few old family portraits in as well so Troy can be included.   I miss him.

I like this one cuz I'm doing what I do best...pickin' my nose.  :)  Oh, look at little Dote Dote (Jodi) - such a cute little baby!

1995 - I was eighteen years old.  My brother-in law, Todd, and my little niece, Nicole, had joined our family.

Meanwhile, the kids were having fun too:

Photo Retakes of My Parents

Since my mom wasn't thrilled with their portraits that were taken last month, we did a photo reshoot Sunday evening. So here are a few of my favorites:

My mom and dad.

This river flows along right by our town so we headed to the river bank for a few shots. My mom, dad, and my niece, Drewe. We redid hers as well since she wasn't too much in the mood to smile from the first family portraits taken.

I like this photo just because Dad wasn't terribly "happy" to be doing their photos over again. He was explaining this to me but he actually looks happy while he's saying it - I love mom's expression here too.

New location.

Dad had finally had enough of getting his picture taken so we finished up and headed back to my house. I glanced over at the wheat field that is right by our house and told them "let's just do a few more in the wheat field." Since Dad started grumbling again, I brought along Rigdon since he was the only thing that was making dad smile at the moment. So here I am taking this photo with my camera in one hand and holding Rigdon in the other and telling him to look at Grandpa and say "smile." I think it worked pretty good. :)
I tried really hard to not "blow out" the sunset but my shots turned out with a white sky anyway - so I tried a little bit of photoshopping for the sky. How convincing is the sky to you? I think it's better than the alternative myself...you be the judge.
