Rigdon's Very First Baseball Season

Rigdon just finished up his very first baseball season ever yesterday.  What fun it's been to watch him!  At this age, baseball is just so darn adorable.

Rigdon's loved learning to play the game.  His coaches have commented to either Jed or I about how Rigdon's always got a smile on his face.

Rigdon's done a great job at batting...he hits the ball much more often than striking out.

One things for sure, Rigdon is a hustler.

For a 6 year old, he does a really good job staying focused on the plays as they are happening.

Carter - my cousin, Sadie's, son.

Taking a few warm up swings.

Hudson cracks me up.  :)

Oh, oh, he sees it, it's comin'....

Oh, right over the top of him.  Nice try Buddy!

Go Hudson, lol!

My friend, Jenni's, son, Logan

Rigdon's best buddy, Hudson.
These two have been friends (also cousins) for a long time...even though they were having a serious little argument tonight about whose turn it was to bat first.  It was pretty cute to watch.  They worked it out pretty quickly.    :)

Thanks Coach Karl for a great season!  Rigdon learned a lot from you!

Baseball Wrap Up

Ronin's baseball season is winding down to a close this week, with tournaments next week.  He's had a really good year - he has steadily improved throughout the season, especially the last three games.  His last game he caught two fly balls in the outfield - he was pretty excited about that.

Season Highlights:
* Ronin still managed to get in some goof-off time during practices and games with some of the other teammates.  He loves to laugh and play with others, so it's really no different in baseball either.
* In one particular game, the pitcher nailed Ronin right in the head.  Good thing for helmets, Ronin was a little dizzy after that but it could have been so much worse.
* One cracked windshield from parking my vehicle a little too closely during baseball practice....Jed was really happy about that one.  :)
* Grandma & Grandpa Hansen coming out to watch the games and cheer Ronin on.
* Stealing bases, getting walked many times, windy, cold days, dirty uniform, playing several positions, hitting a double, bad calls from the umpires, cheering for your teammates, a coach pushing you to do your best, etc...what's not to love about baseball?

Enjoying the Warmth

Spring and winter have been alternating with one another quite a bit over the last few months.  Lately it's definately felt more like winter.  HOWEVER . . . . yesterday the temps were in the higher 40's!  It felt so warm compared to what we've had.  Our boys just had to get out and enjoy it a little bit.

They started out with football first . . . .

Take your pick, an over the top kick or a very energetic Scottish jig?

This poor horse didn't fare very well during the winter. He's losing all his fur.
Then it turned into some baseball.

Connor can be such a wonderful big brother.

I really enjoy seeing love between brothers.  Especially since our boys have all been fighting each other way too much lately.  Cabin fever?

Today's temp: A lovely 50 degrees. Ahh!  I actually NEEDED to turn on my car's AC!
Tomorrow's forecast: 32 degrees, snowstorm with 2-4 inches. :( Suck.  We're back to winter again.

This was from earlier in the week when it was still cold:

Of course all fun usually ends in tears . . . . Jack got a little excited and pushed Rigdon down with his paw.

How can a sweet 'ol face like this be guilty of any wrongdoing anyway?

Besides, Jack devours sticks, not people.  :)
