Playing around with Photography

I took some time yesterday to take a few pictures of Rigdon and play with them on my photo editing software. Rigdon has been much more clingy since the other kids began school. Lately he's really started hitting the terrible two's, even though he's really not two yet. He's taken his tantrums to a whole new level - throwing himself around and screaming. Much of the time he ends up bumping his head on something while doing this so then he really does have a reason to cry. It's so funny to watch and is hard not to laugh sometimes.

This was just a regular picture, but I after tinkering around with my photo editing software I figured out how to blur the background and keep Rigdon in focus.
Playing Peek-a-boo.
Playing around with the softness, blurring, and cropping with a regular photo.
I just love baby smiles.
I finally learned how photographers create the black and white photos with just a few areas of color. It's fun trying it out. In this one, I just kept the color of Rigdon's eyes.
Fun, Fun.

  2. That is awesome - what photo editing software are you using - if you don't mind me asking? :)

  3. Yes, I very much like that tecnique. Those pictures that have been around for years now of little children dressed as adults are a great example, with the little boy holding the flowers behind his back. I've seen it done in moving film as well. The little girl with the red overcoat in Schindler's list was powerfully done. They never said anything about what happened to her. They just let the eye follow her through the B&W film. You do nice work, Mindi.
