Everyone Off the Roads!

Wow, can't believe it really.  Aubrey started drivers education classes a few weeks ago! Scary thought, I know.

I sure admire those driver's ed teachers.  That's a dangerous profession for sure.  :)  But according to her instructors, Aubrey's improved a lot since her first drive.

Change up.

The perks of living close to the school - conveniently being dropped off at home.

I'm not sure I'm ready for this - our daughter spreading her wings, growing up, becoming an adult.

Another day of driving, this time with her favorite instructor...

...who doesn't mind engaging in a snowball fight with Aubrey.

Our neighbor, bishop, and instructor all rolled into one, Mr./Bishop Dye.

Update:  Aubrey passed her final test TODAY in driver's ed!  Woo hoo!  She's pretty excited.  Now it's six months/ 60 hours of driving with a permit and mom and dad to surpervise until she can get her full fledged license.  Still a ways to go.

Connor's Birthday

Connor celebrated his 13th birthday in February.  Yay!

It's not very difficult to please Connor.  Candy always does the trick.

One of Connor's closest friends, Zack.

Ronin and his cousin, Briggs.

Rigdon and his cousin, Brooklyn.

For a birthday activity, Connor wanted to go bowling...so we did.

Rigdon really liked the whole concept of throwing a ball and trying to hit something.

Happy Birthday, Buddy!!!  We love you!

Scouts Blue & Gold Banquet: "Game On!"

Ronin had his scouting Blue & Gold Banquet last night.  Every scout is to bring a cake decorated by himself (mostly with the help of his mother.)  The theme this year was "Game On!"  Since football is Ronin's favorite sport, we went for a football cake.

Devil's Food Cake with chocolate frosting and molded Hunk candy bar for the details:

There were other fun cakes too:

Ronin's scout leader, Mr. Johnson.

Stacking Activity:

Each tier you have to put one additional can on it from the layer directly below it and keep it all balanced.

Calling out cake awards:

Handing out earned awards:

One last thing before the evening comes to a close - eat all the cakes!
